This boy had a rough time with the police and members of the public on suspicion of intent to commit a felony. What aggravated the suspicion was the fact that he couldn’t express himself in any way. He has no functional speech and therefore could not explain who he was and where he came from. Such a scenario would have been avoided if he had carried a communication passport with most essential information about himself or he and his adversaries had learnt some method of Augmentative and Alternative communication.
